BDCC Merger

For many years Bonnyrigg and its surrounding districts had separate Community Councils: Bonnyrigg and Lasswade Community Council (BLCC), and Poltonhall and Hopefield Community Council (PHCC). The two began working together to support members of their community during the Covid-19 pandemic, and in 2021 they agreed to merge to form a single Community Council for the area.  A long consultation process followed and on 28 June 2022 an agreement to merge was approved unanimously at a special meeting of Midlothian Council.  The two Community Councils were merged to form Bonnyrigg and District Community Council. The Inaugural Meeting took place on 13 Oct 2022.
