Help Shape the Future of Tourism in Midlothian – Consultation

Midlothian Council are inviting you to take part in the Midlothian Tourism Strategy Consultation, now live on our Citizen Space platform.

Over the past year, Midlothian Council has undertaken extensive work to develop a refreshed Tourism Strategy for 2025–2030. This has included:

• Analysis of local, regional and national policy objectives

• Review of recent STEAM tourism data and visitor trends

• Engagement with local communities, businesses, and industry partners

• Insights gathered through our 2025 Midlothian Visitor Survey

As a result, we have drafted a set of strategic objectives designed to grow tourism sustainably, increase local economic impact, and celebrate Midlothian’s distinctive heritage, cultural, and natural assets.

We are now seeking your views to ensure these objectives reflect the priorities, needs, and aspirations of local people, businesses, and organisations. Your input is essential to ensure the strategy is aligned with community values and real-world opportunities.
